She gathered nearly 130,000 signatures on her online petition to Chrysler, united other safety advocates, and discussed the issue on major news outlets across the country.
Dangerous Jeeps and Me is the story of one woman's quest to right a wrong, all the while working her full-time job of 15 years, caring for her two teens, looking after a cousin with intellectual disabilities, and volunteering at her local animal shelter, fostering numerous kittens. As word of Chrysler's callous disregard for safety spreads, Embrey hopes to prevent more unnecessary tragedy.
All proceeds from the sale of this book go to nonprofit/charity organizations.

LOVED THIS BOOK. Told in first person by someone who witnessed, first hand, what happens to certain year Jeeps when rear ended by other vehicles. Very graphic pictures. Definitely, NOT for YOUNG readers and NOT for the squeamish or faint of heart!Factually written with a lot of research. A must read before you purchase another car. So sad to know, proof positive, how these big corporations see humanity as a means to wealth but care not one wit about the safety of the people their profits are coming from!

Keep up the good work Jenelle. When my daughter was younger she took horseback riding lessons, one day while at her lesson we heard a screech, a crash and a mother screaming "don't look", their jeep caught fire while they were trailering their pony to the barn for lessons, they got out safely, tied the pony to a tree and were going to go for help when the pony broke free, ran across a main highway and caused a bus carrying senior citizens back from a day trip to crash into 3 cars and the center divider. No one was killed, but that was a miracle. Another friend had a brand new jeep and was trailering their horse to a show, the jeep caught on fire, the horse was badly burned.....there have been problems with these vehicles for a long time...Read this book, Jenelle tells the truth, and corporations do not want the truth told.
Jenelle Embrey was horrified by the fate of a family that was involved in the same chain-reaction freeway crash that destroyed her car. Rather than just feel bad about it, Jenelle got mad and became a crusader for safer cars and a more aggressive effort by government regulators who are supposed to put taxpayers' safety first. This first-person account traces the vital role she played in bringing the nation's attention to the flaws in our government's sorry efforts to ride herd on automakers.
Not even remotely my usual genre, but my love of automobiles and the controversy surround this particular issue drove me to see what the hubbub was about... The fact that I could access the e-book version for FREE via my Prime Membership helped as well.
This is a graphic exposure of how little We The People matter in the eyes of Big Business, and how the Bottom Line means more to these criminally negligent CEOs than the lives of the people who support their very livelihood.
While I feel the author was too liberal in the graphic descriptions of the accidents themselves, I respect that for many of the willingly ignorant among us it was needed to shake them out of the ether long enough to recognize the crimes being committed against us in the name of the almighty Shareholders.
The 4 Stars are far more for the informational content and brave dedication of the author to uncover the truth than any sort of literary excellence or writing skills.
Very sad, but more enlightening than I could have imagined. Stastics do not lie, and therefore, criminal charges should be placed against this corporation for each and every single day Dangerous Jeeps are manufactured and still allowed to be on our roads.
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST FOR JEEP OWNERS. ONE WOMAN'S QUEST FOR JUSTICE, FOR THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES, AND THOSE WHO SURVIVED, SUFFERING FROM LIFE THREATENING BURNS. YOU REALLY NEED TO READ THIS BOOK.
This book is a reminder of how big corporations put profits before people. The author was clearly passionate about the subject, as she was involved in an accident that turned out to be fatal. She is very thorough in her facts and research and paints a clear picture of what she went through, still goes through and what she hopes to accomplish. She balances out the story with her own personal anecdotes and descriptions of her home life and it was an entertaining, interesting and eye-opening read.
